PLANNING TO DONATE YOUR HAIR?

Cuts Against Cancer is a worldwide organization that accepts hair donations from volunteers who are willing to donate to cancer patients. These hair donations are then made into high-quality wigs in hopes of helping these patients in boosting their self-confidence and self-esteem for chemotherapy treatment affects not only the patients’ fast growing cells but their hair cells as well.

Since I was of a young age, I never had the chance to chop my hair in long lengths since I was modeling and my mom was not in favor of me having short hair. As a result of this, I never experienced having short hair.
Before I cut my hair off, I had a keratin treatment to make my hair smoother and to make the person who would receive my hair happy.
In order to donate your hair, a length of at least 12 inches is needed, to allow patients wear a decent length of wig as well. The said length is needed because hair strand loses 1-2 inches right away as the hair is sown onto the cap. All hair types, including dry, permed and colored hair are accepted except too short or wet hair which would emit a foul odor and if it were to not pass the quality test, it would be utilized by students in the wig training school.
The donated hair must be tied onto a ponytail before cutting it off.

Be sure to place it in a ziplock plastic bag labeled “Hair Donation”, name and contact number to any Papemelroti branch. All hair donations will then be forwarded monthly to Cuts Against Cancer.
After donating my hair, I felt more ecstatic knowing that I am helping in making the world a better place, little by little, in my own ways. I hope that by doing this simple act of kindness, I can encourage people regardless of gender, to bring out their inner beauty and to learn the significance of giving what you have to those who truly need it.

E-certificates will be given as soon as the donated hair was received.
